Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has released a notification on its official website for the recruitment of Fishery Extension Officer (Matsya Prasar Padadhikari). - Maximum Age: UR (Female) 40 Years, BC / EBC (Male & Female) 40 Years, SC / ST (Male & Female) 42 Years
- Relaxation: Divyang +10 Years; government servants with 3 years continuous service: +5 Years (other conditions as per rules).
- Special note: Candidates who were within the maximum age limit at any point from 01.08.2020 to 01.08.2026 are also eligible, provided they meet all other eligibility conditions.

Eligibility Criteria
- Fishery Extension Officer: 4-year B.Sc. in Fisheries Science from a Fisheries College under a State Agricultural University recognised by ICAR, New Delhi.
- Pay Scale: Pay Level-7 (as per official notification).
Selection Process
- Total 100 Marks = CBT 75 + Experience up to 25.
- CBT: 100 MCQs, Hindi and English, 2 hours, 100 marks. Syllabus as supplied by the requisitioning department and published separately on the Commission website. Negative marking 0.25 per wrong answer. Normalisation if multiple shifts. Score Card after normalisation.
- Minimum qualifying in CBT: 30%. Qualified candidates are called for Document Verification category-wise.
- Experience marks: Only for qualified candidates, for contractual work on an equivalent post in Bihar Government / Bihar-based non-government institutions (Central Government, Panchayat, Nagar Nikay, etc.), max 25, per-year plus proportional credit for part of a year, counted only up to 23.10.2026. NOC and experience certificate from the competent authority required.
- Merit list on total (scaled CBT + experience). Tie-break: higher CBT marks, then higher experience marks, then older date of birth, then Hindi alphabetical order of name.
