For MPSC Manipur Dental Surgeon eligibility, the candidate must be a citizen of India and must speak Manipuri (Meetei / Meitei Lon) or a tribal dialect of Manipur. The candidate must be a permanent resident of Manipur — a Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is required, and domicile certificates or other residential certificates are NOT accepted. The candidate must hold a recognised dental qualification included in the First or Third Schedule to the Indian Dentist Act, 1948, along with registration with a State Dental Council. All certificates and documents must exist as on 23 September 2026. In-service candidates must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Applicants should verify every condition from the official notification before applying, since the PRC and registration conditions are strict.
The age limit for MPSC Manipur Dental Surgeon Recruitment 2026 is 21 to 38 years as on 23 September 2026. Relaxation is available for 5 years for SC / ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates and 10 years for Differently Abled Persons. SC / ST / OBC candidates who are also Differently Abled get cumulative relaxation. The upper age limit of Government servants is relaxable to the extent of service rendered. There is no age relaxation for categories with no reservation. The application fee is Rs 600 for General and OBC candidates and Rs 400 for SC and ST candidates, while Differently Abled Persons are exempted. The fee is payable online only — through net banking or VISA / MASTER CARD / Debit Card via the application portal — and the fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. The post carries pay in Level 12 — Rs 53,100 to Rs 1,67,800 — in GCS Class-I (Group-A), Manipur Health Service Grade-IV, with a probation period of 2 years.
Selection for the MPSC Manipur Dental Surgeon post is out of 100 marks — Written Examination 85 marks plus Viva Voce 15 marks. The written examination has 85 MCQs to be answered in 2 hours: Basic Medical Science carries 23 questions and Dental Speciality carries 62 questions. The marking scheme is +1 per correct answer and -0.33 per wrong answer. The Viva Voce of 15 marks is conducted by a Board with a Subject Expert. The final merit is the sum of the Written Examination marks and the Viva Voce marks. Where candidates have equal total marks, the candidate with higher written-examination marks ranks higher; if the total and written marks are both equal, the older candidate ranks higher. Candidates are called for Viva Voce at 3 times the number of vacancies in each category, and candidates tied with the last candidate called in a category are also called. The detailed syllabus is given in Annexure-I of the official notification, and the syllabus PDF is linked in the Important Links section.
Candidates must upload the following documents with the online application: Class X marksheet and certificate, Class XII marksheet and certificate, BDS marksheet and degree certificate, experience certificate (if any), State Dental Council registration certificate, category certificate, No Objection Certificate (if applicable), and Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC).
